| Visual imaging | | | | The Smooth Rock Falls Hospital’s visual imaging department is available to the physicians and their patients Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm. After regular hours, the department is available for emergency x-ray services, on an on-call basis. Examinations available on site include: - Routine x-ray exams
- Electrocardiograms
- holter monitors
- basic pulmonary function testing
- abdomen and pelvic ultrasound examinations
The visual imaging department is fortunate to belong to a group of hospitals that links us through PACS (Picture Archiving Communication System). The PACS system enables specialists to view x-rays from the Timmins District Hospital while the patient is still in Smooth Rock Falls.Examinations that are not done in Smooth Rock Falls (such as mammograms, stomach and bowel exams, and specialty ultrasounds) are done at outlying facilities and arrangements are done through our front office. | | |
